The most helpful website I've come across when it comes to finding what bands are coming to town is called
pollstar.com
It's a concert hotwire, so if you type in a band, it will list every venue they are playing that is currently known. If you type in a city, it will list every band playing every venue that for each day.
It goes way into the future too. The Red Hot Chili Peppers came to Portland last a while ago, and I knew about it 9 months before it even happened because of this website.
It's a crazy valuable resource, and I highly recommend it. I've told lots of people I meet at shows about it, but I always have to clarify that it's 'poll' not 'pole'...
